  1. This is great advice. I can imagine it would be hard being unemployed but you still have to make the best of it and not neglect family because of it.

  2. Awesome advice. It is definitely hard to be out of work. It’s very stressful. I’ve been there, and it was not a lot of fun. The only great thing about it was I got to spend more time with my family. It’s like taking a mini vacation. lol

  3. Sometimes working actually makes things worse because you have no time to spend with family. It’s why I’ve now dedicated my life to being a SAHM.

  4. We try to make time with the family every day. The kids crave that attention and I think we as parents are better off when we give them the time they need.

  5. As a freelancer, I feel like I”m unemployed every time I finish a job and it causes a lot of stress. I know my family feels it, too. I’m working on becoming a more balanced, well-rounded mom…it’s a challenge, for sure!

  6. I quite my job almost 10 years ago when our 1st son was born to stay home with our kids. I feel inadequate at times because my husband goes to work everyday.

  13. When my husband was laid off, we struggled for almost 4 years on less than half of his income as I was only working part time. It brought us together as a family for sure.

  14. It’s definitely a good idea to work on things like family while unemployed. There’s no reason to waste time.

  15. My husband was injured on the job and we the best of it. It was nice having him on field trips and other events he would have never made if he was working.

  16. My husband was unemployed for a whole year and a half and we had a whole lot of time to reflect on many things. This is a great post!
