No More Shiny Red Balls and Take Action Now — 23 Comments

    • It is hard to beat procrastination. I found that brreaking the day into 30 minute intervals makes it easier to stay on task and get things done.

  1. Great thoughts! I believe that it’s what happens in the day to day grind that matters most, not those shiny red balls.

  2. Work hard, work often genuine does the trick. I’ve seen that my whole life long. 🙂

  3. It is really important to remember that things do not need to be perfect to get the ball rolling. Success is not perfect.

  4. “If you want to succeed and go from dream to reality, it is important to remember why the grass is greener on the other side. It is greener because someone put in the work to make it happen”
This is something I needed to hear. I tend to just think “its not fair, they are lucky’ but in reality, I need to remember that hard work means you can make your own “luck”!

  5. This is so true. Those distractions come often and they can be hard to resist. I think plenty of people never learn to stop chasing them!

  6. I have definitely lost time, money, and energy chasing shiny red balls in the past. I would like to think I have moved past that now!

  7. I am often told I’m lucky to be a travel writer — people think it’s all travel and no work. I’m also asked how to get started — but few have taken the challenge. Behind every success is hard work (maybe a few lucky breaks here and there — certainly), but mostly it’s hard work. Luck can take you only so far.

  8. As with everything in life it takes hard work to accomplish the things you want to accomplish. No one is going to hand you what you want.

  9. Yup, the secret really is hard work. There are no shortcuts in life.
