Kindness keeps employees around.
No one wants to go to work be around miserable people all day long. Employees will not want to be around an employer who is not a nice person. If all things are equal, people will choose to work with people who are kind rather than people who are not. So no matter if you are an employee or the employer, be kind.
Kindness can be contagious.
Peer pressure is not just for teenagers. When employees, employers and people in general, are kind it gives others an incentive to be kind as well. Another good argument for kindness is the Golden Rule. Most people want to be treated with kindness, dignity and respect. So, if you want to be treated with kindness, treat others with kindness. Your kindness may rub off on others and help you in your job search.

It is a social custom here in the United States that one dresses up in one’s better clothing when going on a job interview. Often people who are between jobs spend the day in pajamas or super comfy casual clothes. This type of clothing tends to make one feel relaxed and less than serious. In contrast, interview clothes make us feel successful, accomplished and serious. Looking for a Job – Go For Your Dream Job
In a dream world, I would be able to work as a consultant from 10 to 2 each day with two clients who each paid me $1,000,000 per year and would have the remainder of the day to devote to writing, and taking care of my family. Today I do not have that dream job. I typically work from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and then from 9 pm to 1 am. I have several consulting clients who pay me far less than $1,000,000 a year and I scramble to find time for writing and taking care of my family. This is reality; the world in which I live. I have a choice, I can complain and be sad that I am not living the dream or I can do the best job possible with what I have and prepare to handle the dream job situation when it arrives. I have chosen to live the life I have and be happy about it all as I prepare for my dream future.

Kindness is something that I try to give out as much as I love to receive it!
Kindness is so important! So many people forget how it branches from you to others.
Kindness is going to launch you much, much further. It also makes you feel good when you’re kind.
I have been told before my positive energy is contagious. I like to be the person that brings everyone into a happy mood.
Kindness is something we need to spread around more. People have forgotten what it means to go out of your way to be kind to someone.
I think kindness is contagious. I try to remember to be kind to everyone even when i am in a bad mood.
I think it is important to spread kindness around. You never know when a smile can change someones entire day.
I have made it a practice to be kind to everyone I come in contact with. I feel when you are hiring someone, that kindness shines through.

This makes so much sense. One time I sent a thank you note to a manager after an interview for the chance of the job… He hadn’t had any openings, yet still interviewed me. Turns out, he got the card the same day someone put in their two-week-notice. Talk about timing 🙂

YES! Kindness really is key. I think a lot of people forget this. You get more when you are kind and nice than anything else.

It’s so true. I found that the more kindness I show to people, the more kindness they’ll offer back. Everyone loves a kind person.
I do not react kindly to employees who are rude. When I was hiring I looked for people with people skills as well as job knowledge.
I think that if you bring kindness to the table people tend to relax and that makes for interviewing SO much easier to do.
I wish more employers seeked out kind people. It seems this area is loaded with people who missed the kindness boat.
I’ve found that being kind has an effect on everyone and everything around you. I believe people are drawn to it because it’s so rare these days.
