It is magnificent to take action now and to put your action plans in writing. When we take action now, we immediately start doing what is necessary to complete our plans. The following story explains the idea behind take action now very clearly: Five birds were sitting on a telephone wire talking. Two of the birds decided to fly to Florida for the winter. Question: How many birds were left? Answer: Five, because deciding to do something is not the same as taking action now to do something.
It is magnificent to take action now and commit to improvement with an accountability group. TAN also known as take action now means that you step up right now and do what needs doing. When a person takes action now, she gets moving and kicks procrastination to the curb. For some people, it is easier to take action now when a person is part of an accountability group that helps them stay on task. There are so many people all around the world with great plans and wonderful ideas of things they would like to do “one day.” You have heard them, they talk about all the things they will do one day when: they lose another 15 pounds they get a college degree the children get out of the house the business is on firmer footing when the world is perfectly aligned with the moon and the stars There is something funny about “one day,” the funny thing is that it is not on the calendar.
It is magnificent to take action now and to handle your emotions while you do it. When we take action now, we step up to the plate and do the things necessary to get things done. Often when people think about doing things, getting things done they only consider the mental effort involved. This is a mistake. A crucial part of getting things done is getting physical with it. The following story is my classic example of what it means to take action now. There are five birds sitting on a telephone wire when half of them decide to fly off to Florida. It is terrific to know that if depression causes you to procrastinate you can get help. There are so many reasons why people procrastinate and put things off for some unknown day that may never come. An increasingly common reason for procrastination is depression. Over the past few months several of my friends and acquaintances have been devastated by suicides in their close circles. Depression may initially cause people to procrastinate as suffers sit in bed or refuse to move. Look at your life and if depression is causing you to procrastinate, get help. It is terrific to take action now so that depression does not destroy your life. I am a member of the Pushing Lovely Facebook group and website. Our mission is to push women writers to be their best. Just two months ago we sponsored a movement called #DayofLight, due to several high-profile suicides in the media recently, suicides in our circles and the suicide … Continue reading →

One excuse is that things are not organized, that nothing is in its own place. If that is your excuse, take action now to organize your work area. The work area is the place where you keep your calendar, pens, pencils, paper, notepads, sticky notes, envelopes, stamps, scissors. Your work area is the place where you sit to do whatever it is that you do. If you take action now and organize your work area, make thing … Continue reading →
