Take Action Now and Don’t Wait for “Someday!”

take action now not Someday www.janeanesworld.com

Whether you take action now to complete your plans or continue to decide to complete your plans, time will pass. The sun will rise and set and the seasons will change. The difference is, if you take action now to get your plans done, you will accomplish your goals and be satisfied. If you do not take action now, your plans will not come to pass and you will feel dissatisfied and regret will grow. Over the course of time, if you continue to make plans and fail to act on them, you will cease to have confidence in yourself. This is a dangerous thing. There are few things sadder than a person who has lost confidence and belief in herself. The good news is that you have the ability to change this picture. The difference between being successful and confident and feeling like a failure and full of regret is all within your hands.

This is a situation where you need to step up and put on your big girl panties. It is okay to be scared. Sometimes it is even common sense to be scared. But, scared or not, if you want to get things done, you must take action now and move forward. Start by realizing that there will never be a perfect time to take action now. No matter when you act, there will always be something telling you to wait, that a better time is coming. Eventually, you must bite the bullet and take action now to do what needs to be done.

If you cannot figure how to move forward, think of the story of the little engine that could. For those not familiar with the story, here is a short version of it. There was a little engine that had to go on a long scary journey. The engine didn’t know if he would succeed or not on his journey. He started off down the track and all along the way he encouraged himself by saying, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.” No matter what the obstacle, the little engine pushed forward, never wavering from the tracks and always repeating, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.” Eventually, the little engine reached the end of the journey and declared, “I thought I could, I thought I could, I thought I could.”

That same method will work for you. Start off talking to yourself, encouraging yourself, inspiring yourself, motivating yourself to move forward. Each step along the way, tell yourself you can do it. Picture the little engine in your mind. In the beginning you may have to tell yourself you can do it, every ten minutes, so what, do it. If you continue to encourage yourself, over the course of time, you will only need to say the words once an hour, then once a day and then even less. You will accomplish what you set out to do.

Take time now, right now and think about that big thing you want to do and keep putting off. Now imagine how you will feel when you have it completed and are basking in the glow of success and completion. Take action now and get moving on it!

take action now www.janeanesworld.comYou must Take Action Now because you should be the driver of your life’s train. When you sit back and let happen whatever will happen, you are in the passenger seat of your life. In life, just like in a car, the passenger has very little impact on the road traveled. When you don’t Take Action Now, you are sitting down and when you should be standing and walking. When you sit back and just let life happen rather than Taking Action Now, you are like a person who brings a knife to a gun fight. You are ill prepared and out-of-place. Click here to read more.

Take Action Now Because Movement is Life

take action now because movement is life www.janeanesworld.comTake Action Now and get things done because movement is life. Almost every person alive had heard at least one reference from the book of Ecclesiastes that there is a time and place, a season for everything under the sun. That idea was good and appropriate over 2,000 years ago when it was first penned sand it is still a good idea today. The idea is that there is a point of time at which we must move. We must move because movement is how things like ideas, plans and goals live. Click here to read more.

  1. I totally agree with ‘success can never happen without work.’ I like to think that I work very hard for what I earn but it’s all worth it in the end!

  2. Wow. This was a great post to read. I have found myself putting things off when I know I shouldn’t. It’s definitely time to take action.

  3. Thank you for such great advice. It’s true that “someday” may never come if you keep putting it off.

  4. This was great. I sometimes find myself in that “someday” mentality and it’s something I’ve been trying to break. Living in the moment and accomplishing things is my new mantra.

  5. I HATE when we talk about Someday at work. It makes me crazy! I am going to share this post with my team!

  6. This is so true and something we have tried to instill in the kids as they grew up. One of our mantras is “Do Something”. Inaction is the enemy. 🙂

  7. As I continue to grow older, I find myself attaching more value to plans and family. Today is my ‘someday’ so I want to make the most of it.

  8. I have to keep telling myself this. I am doing the Dave Ramsey debt plan and I find it hard to want to come home from 9-10 hours at work and then blog too but the money is really good if I stay at it. FInding the motivation is a struggle but i can do anything for a season right?

  9. What a motivational post! I need to start taking actions on some of my goals. I keep saying I am going to pitch certain places for my blog and I never do because I am scared of rejection. As for larger tasks, I find little by little is the only way I get stuff accomplished!
