Take Action Now – Take a Look in a Book — 26 Comments

  1. I am all for the paper book experience. Three shelves full in my house! Also feeling good, because I too some action today towards getting a whole lot of stuff done… finally.

  2. I shamefully admit – I do not like reading. I prefer watching documentary movies and informative shows. My daughter loves reading, and I can tell she learns a lot from it.

  3. I definitely love how easy it is to find resources nowadays. I’m starting to appreciate e-books more and more too.

  4. I love to read – I am addicted!! I use my Nook and phone for Kindle – but I do love the feel of a good book in my hands.

  5. I just love books and have an extensive library on my Kindle. I used to buy the paperback and hardcover books but when Amazon released their very first Kindle I was there. I’ve done some upgrades in the past and just can’t do with it. My toddler is just like me and would bring lots of books for me to read. If you want to learn something books are always a good way to go. So is google lol 🙂

  6. In some ways, I was writing about taking action as well this week. I absolutely love reading to find out how to do the things I need and to research my plan. I love my e-reader as well – but nothing beats the feel of a book in my hands. I remember spending hours in the library looking through old newspaper on microfiche to find information. Even a few years ago, I was showing my Mom how to use microfiche to research genealogical information. I think I am just a research junkie.

  7. I love reading real books, I love my ereader but there is nothing like a real book! I too love the smell of a book!

  8. yes this is so very true! Don’t let lack of knowledge hold you back! You have the ability to learn what you need to, to be successful! 😀

  9. Whenever I want to learn something about anything, I look for books about it. There is a lot of great information online, but nothing beats a book by someone who has done what you want to do.

  10. I love to read and am happy to say i have instilled that passion into my children. Reading is so important

  11. I’m one of those people who prefer to read from a paperback vs. an e-reader but still read quite a bit on my tablet.

  12. Yay! I love reading books. I’m actually part of a book club, and we read a variety of genres, which has opened my eyes to a whole new world.

Speaking of getting things done now, I really like to read Do the Work by Stephen Pressfield..he talks all about the blocks that prevent people from moving forward. It’s a good read and a good refresher when you’re stuck.

  13. Ooooh, I remember microfiche. I used to have to search for documents on it for hours at my first job.

    • I had the hardest time explaining microfiche and microfiche readers to my children. It is amazing how time makes certain technology seem prehistoric!

  14. e-readers are such neat things if you really think about them and how far technology has come. I love being able to fit everything on one little device, but I also love the feel of a real book in my hands.

    • Alisha I do really like my e-reader, but you are right. There is nothing that feels like a paper book in your hands, turning the pages and smelling the ink, Mmmmmmmm, the whole experience is such a joy.
