Where to Go to Get Help
There are a variety of places to take action now and get improved mental health. The place that will work best for each person depends on her level of mental fitness. In no case should an article be seen as a substitute for professional help. The following sources are places you can use to start your journey toward better mental health:
- friends or family members who experienced similar troubles and overcame them – they may have good referral sources for you
- your primary care physician may be able to refer you to an appropriate therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist
- a local social service agency
- college and universities with psychology or counseling programs may have student therapists supervised by licensed professionals who can help you
No matter what method you use, if you need help, take action now and go get the help you need in order to be mentally healthy.
