Thrilling Thursday – Life After Demotion — 3 Comments

  1. Great post! Life happens, and there are some things that, even though they may be seen coming from far off, you just don't want to believe it as being possible to happen. so yes you said it: acceptance and preparation are key. Thanks so much for sharing!

  2. In case of demotion or potential loss of job, I advise making sure one puts money aside into an Emergency Fund. In the likely event of any type of emergency one would like to have some cash set aside but especially in this case. It is advised to have sum of a month's worth of pay. In the current economy, one might aim for two to four months worth of your necessary bills, ex. mortgage, utilities and food. Great post on focusing on the positive in a sticky situation.

    • You have some great ideas about the emergency fund as preparation for demotion. I wrote an article about emergency funds a few weeks ago, when I was talking about how to prepare for and survive a financial setback (http://tiny.cc/058imw). It was very smart for you to advise people about that here.

Tell me what you think.
