This passage reminds me always that I do not have to be afraid to grow and succeed. I have been endowed with great and wonderful characteristics that outweigh fear. If you are afraid to take action now, try one of the following methods to overcome your fear and act.
1. Make a Chart of Pros and Cons
2. Ignore the Fear and Push Forward
3. Make a List of the Best and Worse Possible Outcomes
4. Start A Journal of Times You Faced Fear and Won
5. Recruit a Friend to be Your Cheerleader
Make a Chart of Pros and Cons
Charts of pros and cons are very popular decision-making tools. At the top of a piece of paper or electronic document write the action or decision you are scared to take action now to accomplish. One one side put all of the pros – the reasons you should take action now. On the other side, place all the cons – reasons you should not take action now. If the pros outweigh the cons, then get moving with confidence that you are doing the best thing.
Ignore the Fear and Push Forward
This is a simple sounding alternative. This means you simply move. You just get up and take action now. Even if you are afraid. If it is scary, you pull up your big girl panties and move forward. This method of taking action now may be the easiest because you do not have to think or plan or give reasons. Instead, you simply go ahead and do what needs to be done.
Make a List of the Best and Worse Possible Outcomes
This is my personal favorite. Whenever I am faced with a decision, I figure out what is the worst thing that could happen. Next, I figure out what is the best thing that can happen. If I am able to handle the worst case and the best case that will happen, I can move forward with confidence. This analysis confirms that I can handle whatever will happen. If I can handle the worst and the best, I can move forward with confidence.

Start A Journal of Times You Faced Fear and Won
It is hard to take action now and move forward when you are afraid. Fear can make you think that you cannot succeed. It can also make you feel that you have a history of failure rather than a history of success. A way to combat this is to keep a journal of the times you have acted when you were afraid and walked away with success. Then, whenever you are afraid to act, go read the journal. It will give you the strength and encouragement to take action now and succeed.
