As anyone who reads this blog on a regular basis knows, I am a wife and a mother of four. For those who don’t have children, this means that peaceful, quiet moments when I am not exhausted are few and far between. However, my need for peaceful quiet moments comes more often. So I created a place in my home called “Sanctuary.” It is a little room with a couch, my desk, a bookshelf and a few tables for knick knacks. I taught my family members that the Sanctuary is my special place where they are not welcome without an invitation.
One of my favorite books to look at in my library is “A Room of Her Own” by Virginia Woolf. The premise of the book was that women need money and a room of their own in order to create the things they wanted to create. In World’s case what she was creating was works of fiction. The idea was valid when Woolf first vocalized it and it is valid today. In order to create and to thrive, you must have the necessary resources.
