Miracle Morning – Take a Seat

If you want to have a good miracle morning, have a seat.

Sometimes your Miracle Morning starts with a big bang and sometimes it starts when you simply take a seat and prepare for what is to come.

The lesson I learned during today’s miracle morning walk is that sometimes you need to simply take a seat. Entrepreneurs are busy people. After all, it is not easy to run a business. When you add the responsibility to run a family and friendships, the job is even harder. From the time one gets up, to the time one goes to bed, there are always things to do.

When one gets to the office there is a non-stop list of chores. These include the following:

  • open up the office
  • review the calendar for the day
  • organize to do items
  • manage staff
  • make phone calls
  • prepare reports
  • handle old business
  • deal with current business
  • look for new business opportunities
  • prepare for the next business day

Then, when the entrepreneur returns home, there is another list of chores to do. These include the following:

  • check mail
  • speak with family members
  • prepare and eat dinner
  • get ready for the next work day
  • spend quality time with family
If you want to have a good miracle morning, have a seat.

Those lists are both long, very long. There are many things that must be done. These things are all somewhat mandatory, they must all be done. One must also note that each of these things is time-consuming. As soon as one item is done, it makes logical sense to start the next. There is one important thing that is not on either of those lists. That special and important thing – sit down and relax for a moment.

Lesson from today’s walk – take a seat.

Entrepreneurs are often so busy that they do not take time to simply sit still and relax. Sometimes we forget that the Good Book teaches us that “a merry heart does good like a medicine.” One of the best ways to make a heart merry is to give it some rest. In all you do, take time each day at work and at home to literally have a seat.

When you sit and relax, you give yourself a mini-vacation. Relaxation allows the mind to stop spinning. It allows the heart to work a little less hard. It allows your body to get rest. Your heart, body, and head all need time to rest. If you do not give your body the rest it needs, it will be harder to do all the other things you have to do.

The miracle morning routine was designed to help you be happier and more productive. So, learn a lesson, make sure you add rest and relaxation to your schedule. You will be glad you did.

*** What the Miracle Morning means in my world.***

Recently, I decided to start a Miracle Morning routine. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, it involves getting up a little earlier in the day. The day starts with you doing SAVERS. To translate that into English, it means:

Silence

Affirmation

Visualization

Exercise

Read

Scribe

In my world, I start with spirituality – I read my Bible and pray. Next, I read or write affirmations. I do a lot of work dealing with creating confidence so I read my creating confidence affirmations or spend time creating 1 or 2 more. For visualization, I spend time picturing what will make the day successful. The exercise involves me taking a 20-minute walk around the neighborhood. After my walk, I read. I created a reading list for the mornings. This is a list of books, I want to read for pleasure, for enrichment, or because I need to read them. Finally, it is time to scribe or write. I have decided to turn the things I think about on my walks into blog articles for my scribe activity.

Stay tuned for our next installment in the Miracle Morning series.
