Philadelphia Sailor Participates in Replenishment-at-Sea Aboard USS Chung-Hoon

Thank you to Navy Office of Community Outreach for providing us with information on this sailor and role model.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month we would like to highlight U.S. Navy Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Ciara Heath. We appreciate her service and salute her as an example to young girls and women everywhere.

U.S. Navy Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Ciara Heath, from Philadelphia, signals to a crane operator aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) during a replenishment-at-sea with the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Kanawha (T-AO 196) in the Gulf of Aden, Feb. 19, 2019. The Chung-Hoon is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
