You do not have a successful business by accident. When it comes to your business, make a plan, and then work your plan. All too often, entrepreneurs think successful businesses happen overnight or as a matter of luck. Neither is the case.
No matter what type of business you have, you need a plan. When it comes to business plans there are a few types of people:
- those who created a business plan when they started and revise it on a regular basis
- those who created a business plan when they started and haven’t looked at it since
- those who never created a business plan and don’t see why they should
- those who never created a business plan and now realize that was a mistake
No matter which camp you fall into, today is a great day to start working on your business plan. After all, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So do the work to have a successful business and create or revise your business plan.
I created a five-part series on business plans that you can use to create a solid business plan for a successful business. Work your way through each section, even if you find it challenging. Remember what Benjamin Franklin said, “a stitch in time, saves nine.” In other words, take the time to do the job right the first time so you won’t have to keep doing it over and over again.
Here are the links to the business plan series, work your way through the sections.
