Read Up -Take The Mystery Out Of Your Technology

It-is-terrific-to-know

It is terrific to know that you can take the mystery out of your technology by reading up on it.

Some people are techno geeks who seem to know everything there is to know about every piece of technology that comes down the pike. Other people have not purchased a new piece of technology since the touch tone land line phone. Then in the middle of those two extremes are a myriad of other people many of whom want to know about technology but have no idea how to learn what they want to learn about technology.

There are a variety of ways that one can learn about the technology one owns, would like to own or that is owned by others. One of the easiest ways to do it is to read. There are a variety of sources one can use to read about new technology.

Take the mystery out of technology by reading all about it.

These sources include:

  • books
  • newspapers
  • magazines
  • advertisements
  • store shelf displays

Books – almost every piece of technology has had a book written about it. Books will provide a great deal of detailed information about technology. Be careful when picking books because books have a production delay which means that in many cases books are not as cutting-edge as the technology they describe. The advent of e-books has made it easier for books to come to market closer to the time the technology does.

Newspapers – the bread and butter of newspapers is their ability to get news out in a timely manner, while it is still news. For this reason, newspapers may be a good source to get current information on technology as it comes to market. A problem with newspapers is that they will discuss the technology when it is new so that if you want to know about technology weeks or months after it comes to market, you will need to search newspaper archives.

Magazines – are an interesting mix of books and newspapers when it comes to information about technology. Magazines have production delays, but not as long as those of books for the most part.  Magazines often have previews about technology that will be released in the future. Magazines usually have timely information, but not as timely as newspapers. Often, one can find magazines devoted to only one area of technology such as phones, tablets, computers cameras and the like. This means if you want to learn about technology, a magazine subscription either paper or sent to your tablet may be a good way to keep up-to-date with the technology of your choice.

Magazines are a good way to keep up-to-date on the new technology.

Advertisements – an interesting place to get news on technology is advertisements in newspapers, magazines, and even billboards. Companies want us to buy their technology and will do what they can to bring it to our attention. That is what advertisement is all about. Often advertisements will show off the best features and most interesting features about technology. In this way, advertisements are a way to learn what is out on the horizon and what exciting features will be coming soon

Store shelf displays – stores that sell technology want us to buy it and will do things in the store to get our attention. Often store shelf displays will have information about the technology, the best features and even usage tips. All these things are designed to help us choose to buy the technology. By providing information about how wonderful the technology is, stores empower us to make informed decisions. At the same time, we are able to learn while looking at the store shelves.

In conclusion, it is terrific to know that you can take the mystery out of your technology by reading up on it. So, the question for you this terrific day is, what are you going to read to take the mystery out of your technology?
