Sometimes Too Good to Be True is Actually True

Look deep before you leap, and when the opportunity calls for it, leap!

It is easy to let the bad things we experience in life be the deciding factor in how we act in the future. When bad things happen, it we get scared and we get hurt. Those thing are real and they are unpleasant. It is human nature to want to work to avoid unpleasant things. That makes simply makes sense. After all, once you have been burned by a flame on the stove, you watch yourself around the stove in the future. At the same time, you still need to cook in order to live and to survive so yes, watch yourself around the stove but don’t avoid cooking all together. The same idea should be used when it comes to your business. When new and exciting ventures come along, don’t just jump on them. Instead look deep before you leap. If your look shows good things, then leap away!

In order to succeed in life, you must continue to move and push forward no matter how many times you have faced failure and disappointment in the past. As an entrepreneur, as in life, there are times that you may experience more failures than successes. During those time periods, it is easy and maybe even comfortable to accept the idea that life is full of disappointment and that good things will not happen. It is tempting to avoid business partnerships when previous partnerships have resulted in disappointment or dissatisfaction. Do not fall into that mindset. Do not succumb to the temptation to hide from new partnerships.

Instead, look deep before you leap. Take time to look at each new partnership opportunity. Look at new potential opportunities to see how they fit with your existing time constraints. Do a calculation to determine risks and rewards. Think about the joy the new venture will bring you. If after all your analysis you determine that the new has positives that outweigh the negatives, go for it.

You know you should not be ruled by fear and that the past should influence your future but not control it. So, the question for you this wonderful day is, what fear from the past will you cut loose today?

  1. I have to be careful…I can get really excited really quickly and some times, if it sound’s too good to be true it is. I have been burned a couple of times.

  2. I am an enthusiastic girl, too! Sometimes things are too good to be true, but sometimes good things are truly good.

  3. Love that quote! It’s always so fun to choose exciting! I’m ALL FOR THAT!

  4. True does exist. I’ve seen it with both sets of my grandparents and my aunt and uncle. I thought I had it too, but unfortunately my husband did not feel the same. And life goes on. 🙂

  5. I’m a realist, so I’m careful to not let my excitement get the better of me. I tend to proceed with caution.

  6. I have been teaching my daughter this lesson lately, the ‘to good to be true’ and also the issue of choices. how we are all defined by them so make sure you can live with the ones you make

  7. I always say that if something seems too good to be true, it is. I believe that.
