If one were to read and heed those articles, one would go broke moving from tablet to tablet to tablet. I have purchased a variety of tablets, Android, Kindle and Windows-based systems. I have enjoyed and used them all with joy and satisfaction.  My children all have tablet devices of their own that they use for education and entertainment. Instead of thinking of what is the best  tablet available, think instead of what is the best tablet device for you.

 When deciding which tablet device to purchase there are a variety of factors you should consider including:
  • physical size of the device
  • memory needs
  • ability to upgrade
  • may peripheral devices be added
  • applications and software available for the desired device.

The most important feature one should look for in a tablet device however may actually come from someone other than the tablet manufacturer. The most important thing to consider is th warranty/insurance program available.  Tablet devices by their nature are portable devices which means they will be carried from place to place. Anything that may be carried around can be dropped. Anything that can be dropped can be damaged in the fall. This means you should always consider the cost of an extended warranty or insurance against drops, falls and spills to be part of the cost of buying a tablet device. After all, once your seven-year old twins have had a fight over orange juice that ends up all over your tablet which then falls on the floor and end up with a cracked screen, the $19.99 cost of insurance seems like nothing.
It is terrific to find a piece of technology that perfectly suits your needs. So, the question for you this terrific day is, what is your go to piece of technology?

 As an entrepreneur I  use my Smartphone and tablet for business all the time. I have composed briefs, motions, business plans and proposals on tablets and Smartphones while sitting on a commuter train or at a playground. Having portable technology means I do not have to sit at my office desks and wait for clients to call. I can go on vacation, sit on the beach, read a book and stop my leisure activities to take a client call and get all the information I need to give my clients from my tablet.

  5. Makes me want to run out and get a new tablet, I had a windows phone and hated it, got a new laptop w detachable keyboard(looks like a tablet) but when typing it is to slow to keep up and misses letters. Just need to do some serious investigating before my next one:)

  10. Good roundup of posts! I have lots of devices but I use my iPad for watching movies and my phone for whatever I can when I’m out. I don’t like my laptop. I feel most comfortable on my desktop computer.

  12. I wanted to get on Instagram so I bought a tablet. The tablet I bought was a brand everyone loves for phones, so I assumed it would make for a good pad too. The pics are fuzzy most of the time. I def. should have researched better before buying. I love the tip to buy what’s good for you and not just what’s trending or best on the market.
