The Harlem Globetrotters – A History of Satisfying Audiences

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Comcast Spectacor and the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on behalf of the Harlem Globetrotters. While I was compensated to write about this event, all opinions and facts are my own.

The Harlem Globetrotters bring artistry, comedy, bastketball wizardry and a wonderful history with them everywhere they go.
The Harlem Globetrotters have been thrilling audiences around the world for almost 100 years! They have been thrilling my family for the past three years and we are excited to be traveling back to visit the Globetrotters in action on March 6, 2016 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on March 6, 2016. The Globetrotters introduced comedy and tricks into their game play in 1941 when Reese “Goose” Tatum joined the team. The Globetrotters traveled the world breaking social and cultural barriers. By 1946 the team had played 3,000 games and at a time when there was deep racial segregation in America, they graced the cover of Life magazine.  Globetrotter Nathaniel “Sweetwater” Clifton became the first African-American player to sign an NBA contract in 1950.
The team has played before sold out crowds in the Soviet Union in 1959. Audiences in 120 countries on six continents have been able to see the Globetrotters in action. For some of these audiences, the Globetrotter were their first experience seeing a live basketball game.  Some of the greatest players to ever play basketball have been Globetrotters including Wilt Chamberlain, Marques, Curly Neal Haynes, and Connie Hawkins.

It is thrilling to create wonderful memories with your children like watching the Harlem Globetrotters together.
I went to see the Harlem Globetrotters for the first time when I was a young girl. I remember being delighted with the comedy, games, sportsmanship and the talent the players displayed. The game was so exciting and I never knew who would win the game or how they would do it. Each game was a thrill.  When I had the opportunity to take my children to experience the Globetrotters for themselves a few years ago, I could not wait to share the experience with them.
My favorite part of the Globetrotters is the look on my daughter’s face as she watched the games. She was simply delighted. Every time we go to a game, she spends the entire game, literally on the edge of her seat smiling, cheering and shouting. It was truly a joy to behold.
You can have that same kind of joy with your family. The Harlem Globetrotters will be in Philadelphia March 4, 5, 6 and 12, 2016.

It is wonderful to be able to repeat a great family moment and that is why I am looking forward to seeing the Harlem Globetrotters in Philadelphia. Last year I took my three youngest children to the Liacouras Center to see the Harlem Globetrotters for the first time.  We had a spectacular time. My children and I are looking forward to going to the game this Sunday evening. What most people like about the Globetrotters is the combination of athletics and great entertainment. We enjoyed the show so much, we have been looking forward to going again this year and next year.

Family Fun With the Harlem Globetrotters
There is nothing better for family than creating lasting memories as I do when I take my children to see the Harlem Globetrotters each year. The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters have an incredible reputation for entertaining crowds and keeping audiences on the edges of their seats. I first saw the Globetrotters in action when I was a young girl, many, many years ago. One of my greatest joys as a mother came when I took my children to see theGlobetrotters for the first time two years ago. The looks on their faces, the smiles and the way one of my twin girls spent the entire game literally on the edge of her seat with her mouth open and eyes shining is more precious than diamonds.
