It all starts with installation. When I arranged for Verizon FiOS to be delivered to our home, I called and spoke with a very nice customer service rep who talked with me about what I wanted and where I wanted things to be installed. I explained that I would be out-of-town on business when the technician arrived but my husband would be home and able to answer any questions the technician may have. One cool thing that Verizon has is this cool app for my mobile phone that allowed me to watch Verizon programming on my phone and tablet before the installation happened. For those who ,p FiOS service can be ordered online. The website is easy to navigate and there are even representatives who can chat with you while you are online placing your order. You can even arrange to have a representative come out for installation in the evening or on the weekend.

While at my conference, my husband called to tell me that the installation went smoothly and that the technician had followed all my directions without problem. My eight-year old twins learned to use the remote in less than a day and were excited about using the new home phone. I left my conference excited to get home and see what all the FiOS hype was all about.

Verizon FiOS internet is by far, my favorite part of what FiOS has to offer.

Like most people, before I had FiOS installed at my house, I had seen FiOS commercials hundreds of times. The commercials always talked about the lightning fast internet service. FiOS was always described as “America’s fasted, most consistent and most reliable internet. I was dissatisfied with my current internet provider who was going to stop providing internet service in a few months. I had to find a replacement and I was excited to see what Verizon FiOS had to offer.

I have been using FiOS’ internet for a few months now, and I have been quite pleased with the internet service. I use the internet for work and pleasure so a fast connection is a crucial and non-negotiable item on my list. One of the nice things about FiOS’ internet service is the Speed Match which means all uploads and downloads are at the same speed – FAST. My children like to read books on their e-readers and the speedy downloads has meant they went from wanting a book to reading a book in mere seconds. Our family always has multiple devices online at the same time and the FiOS, fiber optic network has meant that we never sacrificed speed or ease of use. My husband and son are gamers and they have truly enjoyed fighting zombies via the internet.

Verizon FiOS television service made my twin daughters very happy.

The FiOS television service boasts an extremely large amount of television channels. This means that no matter what kind of television you like to watch, there is something for you. My husband likes politics the way sports fans like football. The large number of news channels made him quite happy. Other members of the family like the science related channels, the children’s programming and the huge selection of movies. I will admit that I sometimes enjoy watching trashy daytime talk shows on my phone while I work on my computer. FiOS television has kept us all happy and satisfied.

My young daughter quickly learned to use the remote and started saving shows to the DVR before I even realized we had a DVR feature! Once I discovered the DVR I liked it and used to record shows in the evenings so I could watch them during the day. My husband and I even recorded a few movies for date night! The FiOS on Demand feature often has movies available up to four weeks before they are available on services like Netflix.

Verizon FiOS telephone service made me smile.

One of the things I enjoyed most about FiOS’ telephone service is that my daughters who were used to smart phones and not house phones got to use the home phone whenever they wanted. The thing they did that made me laugh the most about the home phone is when they used the cordless headsets to play Marco Polo with one another. The FiOS Digital Voice serve comes with more than 20 great  calling features that are seamlessly integrated with the telephone technology. One of the best ones is the call forwarding that allows you to enter up to three numbers where you can be reached. This means if you are waiting for a call you, the call can be forwarded to your smart phone so you don’t have to wait by the phone!

Other telephone features worth paying attention to are the ability to block anonymous callers, the ability to manage your phone from your television, PC or smart phone device. It is also coll to be able to look up a number and initiate a call directly from your television screen, via a service called Verizon Visual 411.
