Verizon FiOS – It’s Like Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

What my family has been using NON-STOP is the internet service. Everyone in our family has multiple devices  and we are using the internet all day long. At first I was not happy with the internet service. My office is in the back of my house at the opposite end of the FiOS setup. I had a fit for a few minutes then I called Verizon customer service. I talked with them on the phone and they guided me a few trouble shooting options. Once we made some minor adjustments including raising the router box I was a happy camper. I was glad that customer service was patient, knowledgeable and resilient!

I work at home as a consultant and a writer, so a good and reliable internet service is mandatory, period.  It is great to have internet service that is reliable, fast easy to use. My husband uses a ViOP phone system for work and that is impossible without fast internet service. In addition, we need internet service that allows all of our computers, tablets and smart phone to get on the Internet at the same time. FiOS internet does that for us.

The best thing about the phone service is my children who are at home get to call their sister who is away at college all the time without taking my smart phone! In addition, my children have done something with the new home phone that I have never heard of before. They have been calling their brother’s cell phone, via the new house phone and playing Marco Polo by phone! I have never heard of or seen anything like it before!

Verizon FiOS has two incredible mobile apps. One allows you to watch television, including live television on your smart phone or tablet.  As I type this blog post, I am actually watching television on my tablet device. the other app allows you to handle almost everything you need with your Verizon FiOS service including pay the bill, check out the rewards program and troubleshoot your service.

Not everyone likes contracts. There are many people who don’t like to be tied down to anything. For those people, Verizon FiOS’ no contract plans are a great idea. In addition, there is even a wo-year price guarantee even if a customer doesn’t take a contract.. For others the two-year contract is a great idea. Another cool program is the Verizon’s My Rewards+ is a customer loyalty program for HSI and FiOS customers with Internet and/or TV service. My Rewards+ is designed to recognize customers for choosing Verizon FiOS service over competitors and thank them for being loyal customers. When making certain transactions, customers will be rewarded points that can be redeemed for great rewards like Visa® Prepaid Cards, gift cards from top merchants, or charitable donations. You need to go to www.verizon.com/ourthanks to register. You are required to have a My Verizon account.

Verizon FIOS is particularly good for busy homes like mine because it does not subject users to the “internet rush hour.” At many homes, traffic jams start around 7:00 pm when kids are doing homework, and parents are connecting through social media and streaming movies. You get more rush out of ‘rush hour’ because of a FiOS dedicated connection, no sharing bandwidth with your neighbors. No more buffering or error messages waiting for On Demand programming. It’s also future-proof. FIOS can keep up with ever-changing TV/HD and Internet technology. You won’t have to switch again. It is built to allow you to have the same internet speed for both uploading and downloading – something we need more and more off these days as we share videos and photos, store in the cloud. It’s also something cable cannot provide.

Getting back to the super bowl, are you confident in your television service? Will your internet provider get you the stats you need as quickly as you need them? When you call your friends to brag about how well your team did, will the connection be crystal clear?  If you cannot answer all these questions with a “heck yeah,” it is time for you to call Verizon FiOS and get service started today.

  1. I have not heard of this. I am not sure that it is offered in my little country middle of nowhere area. It sounds like a super cool product and I love that your kids played marco polo with it!

  2. I haven’t looked into FIOS but I think I will need to – we used to have Verizon but they got a little to expensive for us with all the phone lines we need know. They do have great service though.

  3. We have Verizon Wireless too for our cell service. I’ll be on the lookout for the new FIOS availability.

  4. I have never even heard about this – we live in a rural area though and most of the time techie things tend to take a while to get to us. Sounds great though.

  5. Hmm…we have TWC and almost switched to Verizon, but TWC gave us a really good deal to stay. I may have to rethink our decision.

  6. I used to have Verizion FIOS when I lived in a different county. Their service was awesome! I now live on the outskirts where they don’t have service so I’m with a competitor and they stink! I miss my FIOS 🙁

  7. I could so use a faster internet speed. Sometimes I think I am back in the dial-up age. I need to switch to Verizon FIOS.

  8. I have FIOS for years. I would never, ever, ever, ever consider switching. I am a very happy customer.
