Week in Review #011115
Some people find serenity one day per week by taking time to review the news they have missed during the course of the week. If you are one of those people, this is the place for you! Here are the things we covered on Janeane’s World this week.
New Year – New Attitude
It is magnificent to use the new year as a reason to take action now and get a new attitude. At the beginning of every year the world buzzes with ideas on how to make the new year:
* the best year ever
* the most profitable ever
* the most rewarding ever
* the most organized ever
Inevitably people fly from one idea to the next, one book, one article to the next in search of the magic bullet.
New Tricks for Your Camera
It is terrific to find new ways to use your technology including your camera! Once upon a time, cameras were a big investment. In order to take photos one needed a camera film, and either a darkroom or lot of money to pay for photo. As technology has advanced, cameras became a commodity item and more popular among larger masses of people. Today, digital cameras make it possible for people to take thousands of photos without having to pay for darkrooms and professional processing.
Be Grateful for Work
It is wonderful to recognize that there is a reason to be grateful for work. Each day, all over the planet earth people get up and go to work. Some people are entrepreneurs who go to their own businesses and look for ways to serve their clients, make sure their employees are paid and that business continues. Some people are employees who go to work for others and do their best to do a good job so they can continue to work and earn paychecks. Some people work at home without paychecks and make sure their families are run efficiently and lovingly. Whether you fit into one of these categories or a different one, be grateful for your work.

Learn Some New Sales Techniques
It is thrilling to look at your business and learn some new sales techniques that help kick profitability up a notch. It is a reality of life that business runs in cycles and business practices move in and out of style. Once upon a time telegrams, overnight paper deliveries and faxes were state of the art ways to communicate with the word. Those things have gone the way of the dodo bird and have been replaced with email, text messaging and snap chats. No matter how comfortable you are with your current sales techniques, you must always pay attention to see what new technology is on the horizon and what tools can make it easier for you to sell your products or services. No matter what your business is you are selling and you have customers:
Entrepreneur – Take Your Children to Work
It is fantastic to teach your children to appreciate your business by taking them to work with you. For many entrepreneurs, work takes up a large portion of their waking hours. Entrepreneurs with children often have to explain to their children why they are working instead of playing with their children or attending the children’s events. For entrepreneurs who must spend a lot of time at work and miss many family events it is a good idea to take your children to work from time to time.
New Look at an Old Classic – The Communist Manifesto
It is sensational to take a new look at an old classic like the Communist Manifesto. I don’t talk about politics much in this space. That is funny because of all the blog articles I have written, my favorite of all times is an article featuring Karl Marx’s volume – The Communist Manifesto. I read it again recently because it has been almost thirty years since I read it and I have forgotten most of what I read all those years ago.
